Meatlug - Crescendo | 2024

Meatlug, our 2024 season robot, was designed with simplicity in mind. By design, it could only score from a single, fixed position on the field, allowing the team to cut time that would have been spent making a more complicated scoring system. The robot featured a large ground intake that fed into a simple shooter mechanism. The extreme simplicity of this design allowed the team a large amount of time for testing and drive practice before competition, which shows in our performance.

The Game: CRESCENDO presented by Haas

Crescendo, officially known as Crescendo presented by Haas, is the 2024 game for the FIRST Robotics Competition, inspired by music and concerts as part of the FIRST in Show season. Teams compete by scoring foam rings, called "Notes," into goals and earning extra points by climbing truss structures called "Stages." The game concepts were inspired by submissions from Teams 1678 and 3061 during the 2021 Game Design Challenge.
